The Most Exclusive Activities to Enjoy the Snow

The Most Exclusive Activities to Enjoy the Snow

One of the best things about living in or near Barcelona is that you have the best of both worlds: beach and mountains.
While during summer you may want to soak up the sun by coast, in the winter you can enjoy endless activities in the snow with the Pyrenees Mountains so close. The first two activities that might come to mind are skiing and snowboarding (read our guide on the best resorts to ski near Barcelona). But here we’ve compiled some of the more unusual and adventurous activities to enjoy the snow.

Dog sledding and Snow Mobiles

Husky Sledding
Try a different mode of transport with a husky-led adventure. Whether you are an animal-lover or a thrill-seeker, you are guaranteed an unforgettable experience that you’ll be telling all your friends and family about afterwards. More information about husky adventures here.
Alternatively, take the reins and drive your own snow mobile. More information here.

Ice diving

Ice Diving
This is one for the adrenaline-junkies. Test yourself to the limit and dive below the ice to experience extreme sensations while surrounding yourself with incomparable scenes. The ice above you blocks the wind, stopping the air particles from moving in the lake, which makes for even more visible waters and a diving experience like no other. You can find this activity in La Molina and Val Núria, led by professionals who will look after you. For more information, look out for the in-resort offices for Turisme FGC or visit Val Núria’s wesbite here.

Hot Air Balloon over the Pyrenees

Hot Air Balloon
Experience the snow-covered mountains from a different angle with a breath-taking flight across the Pyrenees. This is definitely one for the photographers with guaranteed picture-perfect panoramic views. More information here.

Snow Segway

Segway
The Segway is a strange form of transport but definitely an interesting way of exploring a new place. This is the best way to tour the mountains if you’re looking for a tranquil and calm experience with time to take in everything around you. More information about Segway Tours in La Molina can be found here.
Whatever your tastes, if you’re looking for thrilling adventure, hanging with animals or just wanting a peaceful day out in the snow, the Pyrenees near Barcelona have winter activities to suit all tastes. Take advantage of being so close to the mountains this winter and get out and enjoy the snow.
